Crown Point Mill- Video Tour Pt. 1- Gold Hill/Virginia City Nevada

BE SURE TO CHECK OUT PARTS 2 and 3 of the tour:

Part 2: http://youtu.be/kE-2SYN14gk

Part 3: http://youtu.be/0XAlbsQlU0M

This is a rough, un-edited video tour of the Crown Point Mill. This section describes the grinding circuit and first stage of recovery in the primary thickener. The description is inaccurate in two places- first, the lime feeder is called a ‘zinc feeder’… second, the ball mill is rated at 125 tons per DAY, not per hour.

Recorded on April 24, 2010 using a Flip Video camcorder.
Video Rating: / 5

This is the Caledonia Mill in the Gold Hill NV area. The mill is rather deplorable but its machines are truly monolithic and a wonder in itself. Tour the mill site during the day as we uncover its secrets.

Excellent explanation of the process. I've seen a "rake style classifier" before but never knew its function of the correct name of the device until I stumbled upon your video. Thanks for posting this!
