Last century, old time gold prospectors mined for gold they could see. Today in Nevada, gold prospectors are striking it rich, mining for gold that is literally microscopic. Geologist John Livermore discovered this so-called “invisible gold.” He followed up on an obscure 1930s report by a government engineer about some worthless looking rocks that contained gold. “The key phrase is that this is the kind of deposit that the old timers could have missed – right on the surface – because it didn’t pan.” The gold rush could last another 10-20 years – all because one man saw wealth where others only saw waste.
