Beyond Magees Peak, 9,000 feet, be-yond the sea of purple hills and valleys, bil-lows on billows rolling, beyond the hugemountains of the north rises the monsterpeak of Mount Shasta like a great frosted, cake, towering 5,000 feet above its tallest at-tendant, dominating the entire landscape, and lifting its cream-white cone 14,400 feetabove the level of the sea. DREAMING AMONG THE TREES,5,000 FEET BELOW.
