Metal Detecting for Gold Nuggets with the Fisher Gold Bug Pro Hunting for gold nuggets in Oregon using a Fisher Gold Bug Pro metal detector with the 5 x 10 DD elliptical coil.

I made this video after a long day of nugget hunting in Oregon. It was raining hard for the first few hours that morning, then the sun came out and made for some awesome gold prospecting weather. The area was originally worked in the 1860's by the early prospectors. Lots of hand stacked rock piles and other working up the smaller side drainages. Recovered a bunch of random bits of iron, a few square nails and such.

Ended up finding 4 little nuggets in this patch. This one in the video was the biggest, weighing in just under a grams. The others were each under 1/2 gram.

I'm really becoming a big fan of the GB Pro, it isn't quite as sensitive as the GB2, but the discrimination is excellent and it handles hot rocks quite well for a VLF detector.
